Paper Ribbons

I like art,
The more conceptual, metaphoric, innovative, traditional yet contemporary the better.

The colour and visual aesthetics are exquisite.

Ah Cadbury . . .

These are by Yulia Brodskaya, I like the artistic yet essentially still crafty aspects of these pieces of work

In Holy Matrimony

All the talk with the royal wedding coming up ive been having a peek at some dresses
and some are absolutely beautiful.

This my fave so far,
a wedding anyone?

Ballet/Beauty

arent exactly practical, but amazing hanging on a wall, no?

Material Movement

the way fabric moves with the body, is an art in itself, changing constantly within a second, no photographic capture is the same.

New York, New York . . .

Seasonal Florals

While doing some exploration on my favourite English website, Topshop I fell in live with this perfect look for spring autumn.

The dress is such a sweet floral fabric which is perfect for when the summer goes to autumn or the winter goes to spring,

pair with a beautiful white hat for the races, or perfectly straightened hair for a more casual occasion, just a couple of ideas. . .

i love these shoes!
so sweet yet edgy at the same time.
i want. :)

Uni Chaos

Mad dash to complete, check and finish a pattern for a garment.
1cm seam allowance, name, date, piece, paper, notches, smooth cutting, smooth seam run, drill holes, grainline, balance lines.
For every piece, I had a good 30-40 pieces.
stress.

Mannequins.

Bit of sculptural, futuristic degree work.

The press.
and Coverstitch.

Laying of fabric and patterns.
Perfection.

Despite the pressure you can always find time for 5 mins of Facebook.
I guess that's a good thing.

My half finished tailored garments for my final collection, they were a dream to sew, thank goodness.
as the silk shorts and blouse sure were not.

This dress I believe is the piece de la resistance of my collection, the skirt has many layers including, a lining, a body, a brown satin underlay and then the lace.
thanks to Charlie for helping me cut the many triangles at the hem of the lace.
