This is a garment from my End Of Year Project 2009 for university, inspiration behind this garment came from the Queens Guards from outside Buckingham Palace. Although, this is not nessesarily a direct reference to them as I softened the colour palette right down to red, gold and dropping the signature queens guard, black for predominantly navy.
These are the large gold buttons used down the placket of the crop jacket, I really like how they are particularly eye catching in all types of light.
This is my desk during the design process.
I spy, paint, double sided tape, vitamins, iPod, paint brush, rotary cutter, fabric, mess, open drawer, queens guards, computer mouse, paper, visual diary, water, pens, pencils, laptop, printer, usb, opi, scissors.
A little bit of final design work here, with help from Photoshop and trusty Paint for PC.
This garment is just a simple crop jacket, designed in mind to give the wearers look a simple and feminine military edge.
Rachael (right) borrowed my cropped jacket for a 21st in April, she wore it well, with a simple black dress underneath and some chunky gold jewellery which worked well with the gold buttons.
